Activation Instructions for Online Newspapers

Access to the Chronicle of Higher Ed, Economist.com, FT.com and NYTimes.com

The Economist.com

Trinity University Library provides access to The Economist.com, providing coverage of world politics, business, finance, economics, technology, and more.

Access is open to all students, faculty, and staff members with a Trinity Login ID. Access is currently provided through the Trinity proxy server. If you are trying to access the site while off-campus, you will be prompted to enter your Trinity login credentials.

 

New Users: How to Access

  1. To access The Economist, go to Economist.com 
  2. Please note the following:
    1. If you are accessing Economist.com outside of the IP range you will be prompted to enter your Trinity login credentials.
    2. Once on the site, users will see a "Subscribe now" signpost at the top of the homepage even when authenticated on Trinity's IP range. 
    3. Subscription does not include access to audio editions and apps. 
    4. If users are not authenticated with access, a user will be blocked halfway down an article with a message that says you must subscribe. If this occurs, please contact a librarian. 
    5. A red box at the end of an article indicates the end of the full-text.
