This is the City of SA Parks Plan report Dr. Crim describes at length in the video introducing the green space project assignment (starts at 30: 50). See in particular the map on page 15, which is page 31 of the overall pdf. Goal 2 "Restorative" (pg 62, or 78 of the pdf) was also highlighted in the video. Note that the plan contains several different reports and appendices so the page numbering starts over for different reports.
Evaluates park systems for cities based on access, investment, acreage, amenities, and equity. You can map the city of San Antonio using these factors as well as park placement to analyze areas that need additional green space. Note that the map feature opens up to automatically display "park priority" areas using the above factors, though you can remove and add layers to only see specific dimensions (such as a particular demographic factor or data layer). Here is a brief article about the ParkScore Index analysis of San Antonio.
Google Earth is a geospatial analysis program that uses satellite imagery to create 3D representations of places on Earth. Try mapping a specific address in Google Earth to get a good sense of factors like shade cover, smaller green spaces, building and housing structures, roads, etc.
PolicyMap contains the widest variety of data that you would want to see mapped in order to better understand a given city or region. It pulls in demographic, health care, education, economic, and other data so that you can examine trends, patterns, access gaps, and more. Data can be downloaded in Excel or viewed visually on a map. Data can also be layered to visualize relationships between data, such as poverty and supermarket access, for example.
This map allows you to explore social mobility data by neighborhood, e.g., what are the adult life outcomes of children born in different areas and affected by different factors, such as poverty, race and gender, incarceration, etc. Keep in mind some data is available at the census tract level (neighborhood and within neighborhood) and some only at the county level.
