Creative Commons (CC) provide a simple way to apply copyright permissions to your work. CC licenses can be used with almost any type of work. CC does not recommend its licenses be applied to computer software or hardware.

Adding a CC License to a Work

To add the selected CC license to your document:

Document:

Insert a copy of your selected CC license icon from the CC Downloads Page.
Add descriptive text under the license (e.g. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License).
Hyperlink license to the respective Creative Commons license page (as done in the example above).

Website:

Select your CC license from the License Chooser.
Copy the code from the "Have a web page?" section of the page.
