What is Digital Humanities?
The use of technology to explore traditional humanities disciplines like art, music, architecture, and literature. An example would be reviewing a text and assessing the number of times a word appears using a computer or device. Professor Melissa Terras has an infographic trying to quantify digital humanities (DH) and you can view this on her blog.

- Stanford Digital HumanitiesThe Digital Humanities are a collection of practices and approaches combining computational methods with humanistic inquiry. Stanford has been involved in the Digital Humanities (under that and other names) since at least the late 1980s.
- Pratt Institute Digital HumanitiesPratt Institute is a leading art institute in New York. Browse their projects on this libguide.
- Robots Reading VogueData mining is in fashion. Students, librarians, and faculty are excited about the possibilities of working with Vogue to explore questions in fields from gender studies to computer science.
- Frederick Douglas in BritainAfrican American mapping project that was an award runner up in 2016. From the site: "Here you will find information on formerly enslaved African Americans who made radical and politicized journeys to the British Isles during the c19th to educate British audiences about slavery, racism, and lynching."
