Computer Science Subject Guide

This guide will get you started with basic research on computer science.

Search for Books

Looking for research of greater depth and breadth? Find a book! You don't necessarily need to read the whole text to find useful information. Scan the table of contents or look up relevant keywords in the index; this will help you locate relevant chapters. Use the bibliography for more leads. Track down the books and articles the author cited -- they probably speak to your research topic.

  • Library Catalog
    Search the the library's collection by keyword, or use Advanced Search to locate books by subject, author, or title.
  • WorldCat
    WorldCat is a catalog of library holdings worldwide (i.e. a catalog of catalogs). When Trinity doesn't have a book you need, you can send an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) request straight from WorldCat.
  • Google Books
    Google Books is not as precise for local holdings as our own library catalog, but it indexes many items not held at Trinity, and it often gives excerpts using your search words. Click "Get this book in print" to search WorldCat, then submit an ILL request if we don't have a copy on campus.
