"...And I don't like Trinity's stance on any of this, intellectual property law in the US is antiquated and benefits only the super-rich, and my piracy isn't hurting anyone (etc)!"
The purpose of this webpage isn't to debate any of these questions or convince you that things are the way they "should be". It's just to help you understand what the law is, what Trinity's policies are, and what your obligations are as a student. We also hope to have introduced a few topics that you'll find engaging and thought-provoking in your role as a scholar and citizen.
If you're unhappy with anything regarding the intellectual property landscape in the US, you can always contact the industries whose content restrictions you're displeased with, and your elected officials* to let them hear your views. There are also many resources for current news and commentary on these topics: The US Copyright Office, MPAA Policy Blog, RIAA on Piracy, Creative Commons, Techdirt, Chilling Effects, Public Knowledge, and TorrentFreak.
