Entry point for all the data compiled by the Census Bureau, including links to American FactFinder and American Community Survey. This is the hub where you can find all census data.

Contains information about and statistics measuring U.S. labor market activity, price changes, and working conditions. Be sure to explore the tabs across the top of the page to find relevant data.

Contains the Catalog of U.S. Government Publications. Use FDsys (formerly GPO Access) to search for government documents of all types. Many documents are now available online, but it my be necessary to search for print copies using Trinity's library catalog.

"FRED® (Federal Reserve Economic Data), a database of 20,234 U.S. economic time series. With FRED® you can download data in Microsoft Excel and text formats and view charts of data series."

Includes statistics, surveys, reports, conference proceedings, and a lot of data.

Homepage of the New York Stock Exchange. You can find even more company data in databases such as S&P Net Advantage, Hoover's, and Business Source Complete.

NBER is a private, nonprofit, and nonpartisan research organization that disseminates economic research to policymakers, business professionals, and academics. You can find a wide range of data as well as working papers on their free-web website; this is a great place to find data series.

"GFD specializes in historical data that extends from the 1200s to present, beyond what traditional data vendors can offer. Perform complete analysis on 200 countries and create superior forecasting models for developed and emerging markets on total returns, U.S. stocks, fixed income, equity and economic data."

ICPSR (Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research) maintains a data archive accessible through their website, covering topics such as economic behavior, international systems, legal systems, social institutions and behavior, etc.

IPUMS stands for "Integrated Public Use Microdata Series," and this source contains samples of the American population drawn from censuses and the American Community Surveys. Note that these are NOT statistics; these are microdata (as opposed to aggregate data) -- meaning that every record is an individual person, numerically coded. Check it out. "Use it for good, never for evil."
