Let's get that out of the way, from the get-go.  Nothing on this libguide is going to teach you how to pirate, encourage you to pirate, or make any kind of apologetic for piracy.  Quite the opposite, in fact.  

Having said that, though, we will attempt to answer questions as honestly and as directly as possible in the interests of education and media literacy.  But please don't take any of the candidly-presented information here as any kind of weakening of either university policy or official interpretation of US federal law.  This is simply our best professional understanding of the subject at hand, conveyed to you in what we hope is an informative, constructive, and non-judgemental manner.
