Reading TUgether 2021

Reading TUgether provides the entire Trinity community with a shared reading and learning experience.

Past books have included On Immunity: An Innoculation by Eula Biss, Evicted by Matthew Desmond, Salt Sugar Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us by Michael Moss, and The Circle by Dave Eggers.

The book chosen for summer 2021 is Long Shot: The Triumphs and Struggles of an NBA Freedom Fighter by NBA Champion Craig Hodges. Hodges chronicles his successes on the basketball court and the social activism that resulted in his being ostracized by powerful forces in and beyond sports.

Hodges will deliver the Reading TUgether lecture on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 7 p.m.

First year students must complete a short, online research assignment in conjunction with the book. Use TLearn to complete the assignment. Direct any question about the assignment to FYE Librarian Anne Jumonville Graf. The assignment will open in TLearn on June 1 and is due Friday, July 30.

First year students in the United States: Academic Affairs will be sending you a copy of the book this summer, so be on the lookout! For international students and anyone with a TU network username and password, ebook access is available through Coates Library.
