Some of the resources on this LibGuide are different from others you may have worked with in past classes. For example, how should you cite the data from Social Explorer? Remember that Explorer hosts and visualizes data obtained from other sources. You need to cite both! A sample APA citation for SE looks like this:
U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey. (2017). Population density (per sq. mile). In Social Explorer. Retrieved from https://www.socialexplorer.com
The Census Bureau is the corporate author that originally obtained population data by administering the American Community Survey, but you retrieved the data from Social Explorer. Including both establishes the credibility of sources you use while facilitating verification and discovery.
