    Philosophy Online

    These websites, portals, and online resources may be helpful in beginning or continuing research on topics related to philosophy.

    • Trinity University Philosophy Department  
      Links to favorites of our own faculty, as well as course materials and other curricular items.
    • Philosophy Guide  
      Research Institute for the Humanities, Chinese University of Hong Kong. One of the better collections of pointers to various sites of philosophic interest, this page also has links to many online editions of famous texts.
    • Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy  
      This is "the first dynamic [philosophy] encyclopedia. Each entry is maintained and kept up to date by an expert or group of experts in the field."
    • Erratic Impact: Philosophy Research Base  
      Categorized by history, subject and author, this meta-index integrates text resources with the best online resources. The site began as a research tool for students enrolled in philosophy courses at Villanova University.
    • Guide to Philosophy on the Internet  
      A fine, searchable compilation by Peter Suber, the chair of the Philosophy Department at Earlham College. Note: The site has not been actively updated since 2003, so beware of dead links.
    • Philosophy: Internet Resources (Yale University)  
      Comprehensive links listings organized into categories, including Philosophy Gates and Search Engines, Philosophy Departments and Programs, Research Centers, Philosophy Journals Online, Text Archives and Projects, and Conferences.
    • The Skeptic's Dictionary: A Guide for the New Millennium  
      Claiming that the "only thing infinite is our capacity for self-deception," philosophy professor Robert T. Carroll provides over 250 articles debunking popular myths. Categories include alternative medicine, ETs and UFOs, junk science and pseudoscience.
    • The Society for Women in Philosophy  
      The Society for Women in Philosophy was started in 1972 to promote and support women in philosophy. While not currently maintained, the categories of links related to women in philosophy are useful.
    • American Philosophical Association  
      The premier professional organization for philosophers in the United States.
